Focus on Clermont-Ferrand, France!

Our blog posts series presents the different cities with which Qucit has partnered to offer mobility system optimization solutions. Discover how our solutions contribute to improving urban mobility in these areas!

The city of Clermont Ferrand is located on the edge of rivers and mountain ranges. Known for its volcanoes and its historical heritage, the city with its steep curves fascinates as much as it attracts. Any cyclist looking for thrills knows that it offers an exceptional playground! Its unobstructed view of the Puy de Dôme has earned it a certain reputation, as have its surrounding vineyards, with their authentic relief.

With more than 141,000 inhabitants, this city in central France is having many projects, including the deployment of a major cycling policy. By 2028, the city aims to have 365 km of bicycle paths. A winning strategy, in keeping with the city's ambitions!

In 2013, Clermont-Ferrand set up the C.Vélo system. This system was created by the Syndicat Mixte des Transports en Commun de l'Agglomération Clermontoise. C.Vélo is managed by Inurba Mobility, a Spanish operator and European leader in the management of public bike sharing system hire. Our Qucit Bike application is used daily by the teams on the ground to ensure the field operations. Today, it has 57 stations for 680 bikes on its payroll.
