Madrid is the capital of Spain and the country's largest city, with a population expected to exceed 3 million by 2023. In 2019, in order to have a positive impact on the environment and the population, Madrid City Council adopted the Madrid 360 environmental sustainability strategy. The main objective is to reduce the capital's polluting emissions and transform it into a sustainable city. This is one of the reasons why the city has recently introduced a new bike-sharing system, Bicimad!

Since March 2023, Madrid residents have been able to rent the new Bicimad e-bikes available in the city. This new system has gradually replaced the 264 stations and 2,964 existing bikes since 2020, and is now present in all 21 districts of Madrid. Today, 7,500 electric bikes are available at 611 stations managed by EMT Madrid!

Since October 2022, Qucit has been assisting EMT Madrid teams to manage the Bicimad fleet, optimizing station rebalancing, bike collection and battery swapping.
