Focus on Philadelphia, United States!

Our blog posts series presents the different cities with which Qucit has partnered to offer mobility system optimization solutions. Discover how our solutions contribute to improving urban mobility in these areas!

In order to offer more sustainable transport options to residents and visitors, the City of Philadelphia is committed to developing a network of cycle paths and shared lanes. To date, this network stretches over 440 kilometers and allows cyclists to travel safely throughout the city, linking different neighborhoods, parks and tourist attractions. The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (with its famous Rocky steps) can all be visited by bike, and even with a shared bike thanks to the Indego system!

The Indego service was launched in Philadelphia in April 2015. It is the city's bike-share system, run jointly by the Philadelphia Parking Authority and Bicycle Transit Systems. Since its launch, Indego has experienced steady growth and popularity, becoming a popular mode of transportation for Philadelphia residents and visitors. The service now has more than 1,650 electric and mechanical bicycles spread over 174 stations.

Since February 2023, Qucit has been assisting the Bicycle Transit Systems teams in managing the Indego fleet by optimizing station rebalancing.
