Antwerp is a very pleasant city to get around by bike. It's compact, the cycling facilities are improving year on year, and it's easy to get a bike! In fact, the city is made up of over 500 km of safe and comfortable cycle routes, which encourages many people to get around by bike on a daily basis. In 2022, Antwerp was ranked third in the "Global Bicycle Cities Index 2022", behind Utrecht (Netherlands) and Munster (Germany). In addition to this high-quality infrastructure, Antwerp offers a self-service bicycle system, Velo Antwerpen!

Following research by the city of Antwerp into the creation of a bike-sharing system, Velo Antwerpen was launched in June 2011 with 80 stations and 1,000 bikes, in collaboration with Clear Channel to manage operations. The success was immediate, so much so that the system had already doubled in size two years later. Since its launch, Velo Antwerpen has enjoyed steady growth and popularity, becoming a popular means of transport for residents and visitors to Antwerp. Today, the service has more than 4,200 mechanical bicycles at 305 stations.

Since August 2022, Qucit has been assisting Clear Channel's teams in managing the Velo Antwerpen fleet, optimizing station rebalancing.
